Winter Is Coming

The transition between hiking season and skiing season is stark and unsettling for us. We are left in a limbo state of empty time in between seasons of two passions. And with the limbo state comes the realization that we have home ownership responsibilities that we have let slide in order to spend our time in nature.

The in-between time is one of catching up on our responsibilities and re-ordering the inside parts of our existence. We have faithfully continued our High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) with our trainer Colleen (who deserves a huge shout out because she is amazing -- check her out at http://www.foxrunwellness.com). HIIT kicks our butts in all the right ways that cannot be covered in our home gym alone.

Winter is coming and arguably, is already here. We had our first snowfall of about 4" and are anxiously awaiting our first day out on the slopes. Mike summed up the weather nicely with this picture of the snow and our neighbor's dog, who we have fondly named Katahdin (Kadie), who loves us as much as we love her.

Kadie anxiously looking in the windows with hopes we'll let her back inside our house to lay in front of the pellet stove.

Stayed tuned for our next adventure. It won't be too much of a wait!
